My 10 month old won't sleep through the night? What can I do?

any insight would be helpful! We have a nightime routine for her, bath, cereal (because she won't drink bottle or sippy cup), PJ's and then sleep. We turn on a lullaby each night and I have to rock her to sleep. I've tried to put her down in her crib drowzy but still awake but as soon as she feels she being put down she awakens right away and cries to be picked up. I've tried the let her cry it out method a couple of nights and it was so heart breaking I couldn't keep up with it. Now she's almost a year old and I think it's become routine for her to wake up and cry out for me because that's what she's been doing for the past month or so... any suggestions??
